Atlanta rapper and hip hop legend Jermaine Dupri might be what we need to get Offset and Quavo back together! In a recent appearance on the Bag Fuel podcast the legendary producer shared his thoughts on Quavo and Offset, the remaining former members of Migos, expressing that they’re stronger together than as solo artists. Reflecting on the group’s 2022 breakup, Dupri emphasized the impact it had on Atlanta’s music scene, calling it a major blow to the city. “The Migos breaking up was a bad situation for Atlanta… they’re better together anyway,” he said.

Dupri also opened up about the emotional toll of Takeoff’s tragic death in late 2022. “It felt crazy to me,” he recalled, explaining that losing an Atlanta rapper in such a way was unexpected and deeply unsettling.

A long time supporter of the Migos, Dupri had previously classified them alongside Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan as leaders of the “New Atlanta” era in the mid-2010s. In a 2016 episode of The Rap Game , he praised the group’s unique and influential rap style, calling it one of the most infectious in the industry.

In a 2023 interview with Vibe Magazine he expressed concern for the current state of hip-hop, particularly in Atlanta. He noted a decline in top-tier talent, pointing out that where the city once boasted a deep roster of stars like Ludacris, Jeezy, 2 Chainz, and the Migos, now only Lil Baby and Future remain at the top. Still, Dupri remains optimistic, acknowledging that while the upper echelon has shrunk, there is still significant talent in the city.
