Ohio State Trooper charged after 4-year-old son shoots himself

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper whose 4-year-old son accidentally shot himself with an unsecured handgun and died has been indicted on negligent homicide and child endangering charges.

According to The Blade,  a Toledo grand jury charged 32-year-old Fu Sun. Evan Sun shot himself in the head at his family’s Toledo home May 12. Sun graduated from the Highway Patrol’s training

A Highway Patrol spokesman says Sun is currently on paid military leave. Highway Patrol officials have said an internal investigation was being conducted because the shooting involved a weapon issued by the agency.
